PDF Compressor
Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-03-02
This Privacy Policy describes how Etienne Pers (the “Service Provider”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the PDF Compressor mobile application (the “Application”).
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or about privacy practices related to the Application, you can contact us at support@tickedapps.com or visit https://www.tickedapps.com.
1) What this Privacy Policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains:
- the types of information that may be processed when you use the Application,
- how that information is used,
- when it may be shared with third parties (for example, Apple),
- the choices you have, including how to opt out by uninstalling the Application.
2) Information processed by the Application
2.1 Files you choose to use in the Application (processed on your device)
The Application is designed to compress PDF documents and compress images, and also allows you to merge files into a single PDF. To provide this functionality, the Application may request permission to access content and system features on your device, including:
- Files access (through Apple’s document picker): allows you to select PDF files and other supported files stored on your device or in cloud storage providers you choose to connect through iOS. Importantly: your PDFs and images are processed locally on your device for the purpose of compressing and merging. The Service Provider does not upload your files to the Service Provider’s own servers for compression/merge. The Application saves output files locally on your device (for example, in the Application’s Documents storage area) so you can view, share, save, and manage them.
2.2 Sharing, saving, and emailing files (Apple system services)
The Application allows you to export or share files using Apple-provided system interfaces (for example, the iOS share sheet, the Files exporter, or the Mail composer).
When you choose to share, save, or email a file, the content is handled by the destination you select (for example, Mail, AirDrop, Files, or another app). The Service Provider does not receive the files you share.
2.3 Support communications
If you contact the Service Provider for customer support (for example by email), you may voluntarily provide information such as your email address and the content of your message. The Service Provider uses this information only to respond to you, provide assistance, and improve support quality.
2.4 Analytics
The Application integrates a third-party analytics SDK (PostHog) to help understand app usage and improve the Application. Analytics events may include feature usage (for example, compress/merge events), interaction events (such as button taps), and basic device/app context (such as app version and iOS version). The Service Provider does not use analytics to read the content of your PDFs/photos/documents.
2.5 Advertising
The Application may display ads using third-party advertising SDKs (Google Mobile Ads / AdMob) and may use a consent management SDK (Google User Messaging Platform / UMP) where required by law.
Depending on your region, device settings, and your choices, Google may process information to provide and measure ads. This may include device/app information, IP address, ad interaction events, and diagnostics/performance data.
Personalized vs non-personalized ads
Where required, the Application presents a consent choice (via UMP). If you do not consent to personalized advertising, the Application will request non-personalized ads.
If you consent to personalized advertising (where applicable), the Application may request permission using Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework (“ATT”). If you allow tracking, the Application may allow advertising partners (such as Google) to access the device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) for ad personalization and measurement.
If you do not allow tracking (or if consent is not granted), the Application will request non-personalized ads (for example by using Google’s non-personalized ads setting).
Ad-related processing is governed by Google’s policies.
2.6 Purchases and subscriptions
The Application offers an auto-renewable subscription (“PDF Compressor Pro”). Purchases and subscriptions are handled through Apple’s in-app purchase system and managed using RevenueCat for entitlement/subscription status. The Service Provider does not receive your full payment details. Payments are processed by Apple.
2.7 Location data
The Application does not collect precise location information about your device. Some third-party services (such as advertising providers) may infer approximate location from IP address for compliance or ad delivery.
3) How we use information
The Service Provider uses information as necessary to:
- provide and operate the Application’s core functionality (selecting, compressing, merging, saving, and sharing files),
- respond to customer support requests and provide assistance,
- maintain the security, stability, and performance of the Application, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
The Service Provider does not sell your personal information.
4) Sharing of information
The Service Provider may share information only in limited circumstances consistent with this Privacy Policy, including:
- Apple platform services. The Application uses Apple-provided system components (for example, document picker, share/export interfaces, Mail composer, and in-app purchases). Apple’s processing of information is governed by Apple’s privacy policies and your device settings.
- Third-party SDK providers. The Application uses third-party providers to support certain features, such as:
- PostHog (analytics)
- Google Mobile Ads / AdMob (advertising)
- Google UMP (consent management)
- RevenueCat (subscription/purchase management)
- Legal requirements and protection. The Service Provider may disclose information if required to do so by law or if the Service Provider believes in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with legal process, protect the Service Provider’s rights, protect user safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to lawful government requests.
Other than as described above, the Service Provider does not share your information with third parties for advertising purposes outside the advertising functionality of the Application.
5) Data retention
Because the Application processes files locally on your device for compression/merge, the Service Provider generally does not retain your file content.
If you contact the Service Provider for support, the Service Provider may retain support communications for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you and for a reasonable period thereafter for recordkeeping and support quality purposes, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
If you would like the Service Provider to delete support communications you have provided, you may contact support@tickedapps.com, and the Service Provider will respond within a reasonable time.
6) Your choices and opt-out rights
You can stop further use of the Application at any time by uninstalling it from your device. Uninstalling the Application will also stop further information processing by the Application going forward.
You can also manage Application permissions (such as Files access) through your device settings. Please note that if you deny or revoke certain permissions, some features of the Application may not function correctly.
Advertising choices
You may be presented with consent choices (via UMP) depending on your region.
You can control tracking permission at any time in iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking (and then select this Application).
If you do not consent to personalized advertising or do not allow tracking, you may still see ads, but they may be less relevant.
7) Security
The Service Provider takes reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information processed in connection with the Application. However, no method of transmission over the internet and no method of electronic storage is completely secure. As a result, while the Service Provider strives to protect information, the Service Provider cannot guarantee absolute security.
8) Children’s privacy
The Application is not intended for children under the age of 13, and the Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The Service Provider encourages parents and guardians to monitor children’s use of mobile applications and internet activity.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to the Service Provider, please contact support@tickedapps.com so the Service Provider can take appropriate steps. Where required by applicable law, you must be at least 16 years old to consent to the processing of personal information in your country (or a parent/guardian may consent on your behalf).
9) Changes to this Privacy Policy
The Service Provider may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are made, the Service Provider will update the “Effective date” at the top of this page. You are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Application after an update will be deemed acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy, to the extent permitted by law.
10) Your consent
By downloading, accessing, or using the Application, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and you consent to the processing described herein, to the extent such consent is required by applicable law. Where required, you may be presented with additional choices (for example for advertising consent and tracking permission).
